...I'm lucky...

Alhamdulillah...
I think I am lucky to be created as a woman...
not saying that being a man is bad, but I really appreciate that in Islam, a woman is given a such high appreciation in every aspect...
this is not just stated in the Quran and Hadith, but also in the law where women have their own rights and we are totally being protected by the religion.

In Islam, both genders are clearly stated to have their own rights and roles...
obviously, this shows the equality given by the religion to all of us, in terms of our religious duties towards ALLAH...
for example,

Surely for men who surrender to God, and women who surrender;
and men who believe and women who believe;
and men who obey and women who obey;
and men who speak the truth and women who speak the truth;
and men who persevere (in righteousness)
and women who persevere;
and men who are humble and women who are humble;
and men who give alms and women who give alms;
and men who fast and women who fast;
and men who guard their modesty and women who guard
(their modesty);and men who remember Allah much and women who remember - Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a vast reward.

(surah Al-Ahzab:35)

oooppss...
I don't have the rights to explain all the verses in Quran or Hadith to explain this...
I am still studying and I guess I still need to study more about this...
but this verse from surah Al-Ahzab tells us Islam stresses on how both genders have the same and equal duties in worshipping ALLAH and the religion...
no bias ad everyone is the same...

I went to the talks during the Islamic Awareness Week...
and some of the speakers did mention about how special a woman can be in Islam...
as I said before, it is stated in the Quran (surah An-Nisa can be a great example) and Hadith...
then, it is also clearly stated it the law of Islam...
all of that tells us about our duty as a Muslim...
our duty as a wife, mother, daughter and even as a friend...
they also touch on the rights of women in education, marriage, and also social life...
isn't it great?

these are some of the interesting quotes I got from the talks...

"We can see how a society honours the people. They will always honour the source of the society which is the women." (Abdul Al-Andalusi, 2012)

- he basically explains about Shariah Laws and he did touch on the women's rights and speciality in a society.

then, there was Yvone Ridley who told us her experienced been arrested by the Talibans in 2001...
she said that the people there treated her very well...
they respect her as a woman and everything was done appropriately; they didn't offence her even though at that time she was not a Muslim...

and there is one of the Arabic proverbs which I saw in one of the brochures...
"A mother is a school. Preparing her is like preparing a good nation."

there's a lot more...
and now I have realised that women should be grateful to be created as one..
we are lucky in every aspects, basically because we have the guidelines to protect ourselves and there are also other things which will protect us...
no oppression, and all we have is dignity, pride and freedom...

Alhamdulillah...
thank you Allah...
